after my exams in psychology, I was considering going into modelling (I'm not talking about beauty here!
because I have about 5 months or so of freedom, I've put of my creative interests for science and part time work (sadly)

- how to make mini furniture
- how to make mini-gardens

3D Studio Max Tutorial on integrating models to real footage?
Hello I would like to know how to integrate my 3D Studio Max 8 models into real video footage, perhaps a link to a tutorial video or something like that. I can't seem to find any information on how to do it :( also how can I reduce the size of my 3ds rendered videos cause like 5 second animation saved out to .avi is like 35MB. It's actually pretty easy (though you could make it as hard as you want, I suppose.
Delete the original cube
Go to top-down view (keypad 7)
Insert a default cylinder (space - add mesh - cylinder)
Go to front view (keypad 3)
Switch to edit mode (tab key)
Move cylinder down so the top is even with the X axis
Add a default UV sphere (space - add mesh - UV sphere)
Switch back to object mode to view it
Because you added the shape in edit mode, the sphere and circle combine to make a decent bullet shape. Of course, you can do a lot more with it. Add a material to give it a metallic color and shine, Use set smooth to make it appear more polished. Use extrusion and scaling to add ridges, and much more. Still, this is a good starting place. Good luck...

Most people are a little bit lazy or busy to give you specific locations dude, and i hate it when people tell you to do it yourself, or find it yourself. What they dont realise is that you may not be able to do it yourself.
If you want free models, i'd suggest going to:
www.turbosquid.com
once you get to the site, there will be a search bar at the top (near there). search what model you need, if not type in 3DS MAX or 3DS or MAX and all the 3ds max files will come up. BUT, you will notice prices.. so look at the ';list by'; area, and select ';lowest prices'; which are all in blue font. If you do this, you will see all the free models, and then the ones that cost. the name ';3ds max'; is a popular and common search so u will get dozens of pages with free models. Some of them may be useful and very well done. THANKS TO THE MODELERS WHO SUBMITTED THEM FOR FREE.
If you want some really good models, go to www.youtube.com and watch some modeling or rigging videos. if you like the model(s) in the video, send a message to the guy asking him if you could use his model, and 90% of the time they will allow you ;)

But dude, it doesnt have to be video tutorials.. first you must learn to operate the 3ds max user interface (all the things you see and dont see when u open up 3ds max) because written tutorials will expect you to know all that. To be honest, i didnt want written tutorials at first either but now i can cooperate with them very easily and they are very educational.
Attending a 3d graphics school is also a good choice.

Where can I find a good tutorial to get the most out of my Sony Cybershot digital Camera, model DSC-H?
I'm looking to find a tutorial to help me use my Sony Cybershot Camera, I've bought the camera, but I'm finding it difficult to get the ';most'; out of it. I don't understand the ISO and manual focus stuff. I have no clue what half the options are for. I'm finding when I zoom in really close to my baby's face, the pictures are blurry most of the time. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. It's aggravating to me that I spent $500 on a camera and I'm not using it to it's full advantage. Immediately when I bought it, I realized that I shouldn't have bought a point and shoot...I should have gotten an SLR, stupid decision, not enough research, and I'm living with my mistake now. I just want to learn to get the most out of my purchase that I have made.

I can refer you to the best book I know of for photographic makeup application... Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin. Kevyn worked in the cosmetic and fashion industries for many years, and his work has been honored numerous times. The book is fantastic and gives very clear directions.

There are but it doesn't help much if you are learning how to become a master at it.

Okay: Poser and Daz Studio are POSING programs, and will not allow you to create your own content (that is, not without a third party app). You have to download/buy pre-built content.
To create your own 3d characters, you need a 3d modelling app. There are many, and as I am sure you are aware of this fact, a great (free) way to get into this field would be Blender. Blender has this reputation that it is hard to learn, but it is actually no more difficult than any of the other (commercial) ones - I have worked in most 3d software myself. I do admit Blender has a non-standard interface, but once you get used to it, one can fly!
